This past week I went to southern California with my sister and her friend from Japan. Originally I wasn’t supposed to go, but when plans fell through, my sister needed another driver to help her drive from Utah to California. Honestly, I was really happy. I had wanted to get out of Utah one more time before school started up again in two weeks so this was perfect. Anyone else go on any trips right before the start of school?

This post will be pretty quick, but I wanted to write a little something about it anyways. Enjoy!

Wednesday:

The long drive from Utah to Aliso Viejo. About 9 hours total. I actually like this drive. It’s pretty easy since you just drive on the same highway all the way through. No exiting, no other freeways. It‘s great. We stopped a couple times along the way like in Las Vegas for lunch and some other places for gas, but a pretty chill drive. My favorite part of the drive is in the tiny corner of Arizona. It’s a gorge I think and it feels like we are driving through the cracks of a turtle shell. Driving through the Nevada part though is pretty boring. It’s so flat. But alas, after many playlists and a bag of pretzel m&ms later, we made it to Amanda’s friend‘s house. We were all pooped from the drive so we decided to stay in and just catch up and get ready for bed.

Thursday:

The busiest day. By far. We left at 6 am to go to an asian bakery to get breakfast and lunch for our long day at Disneyland. We were planning to go to both Disneyland and California Adventure, so we needed all the energy we could get. We got there early and when the park opened at 9 we went straight to the Cars Land ride. We then headed to my new favorite, Guardians of the Galaxy. It’s worth the hype. The music makes the ride so much better, and the ride goes up and drops down a lot more than the previous Tower of Terror ride. 10/10 would recommend. We also went on the Incredicoaster (its better at night time), Toy Story Mania, Soarin, and a couple other rides. There were pretty short lines so it was great. By 11:30 we were ready to switch to the Disneyland park. There we went on a couple chill rides like Pirates of the Caribbean and Haunted Mansion. Then on we went to Hyper Space Mountain and Astro Blasters. Then we headed to the new Star Wars Land. It’s super cool. The blue milk is good and the ride is awesome. Everything is so cute. I also heard that the passionfruit dessert is also tasty. For lunch we had corndogs and I got a macaron and coconut cheesecake from Jollybell Bakery. It was good. The rest was kinda a blur. World of Color, fireworks, more rides...my feet and legs were killing me by then so... We had walked about 29,000 steps by the end of the night. Two parks in one day is a lot. Brace yourselves. That’s all I will say.

Friday:

Not gonna lie, I woke up and could hardly walk. We decided to chill out today so we went to Laguna Beach. We just sat on the beach and sun-bathed. I also decided to take some pictures on the beach. We got some acai bowls and headed back to the house to make gyoza. I had never folded gyoza before, so the first couple were rough, but I got the hang of it pretty quick. So, hit me up for your gyoza needs!

Saturday:

We headed to LA to go see the Getty Museum. The Central Garden there was gorgeous and I was able to take some pictures for my sister’s friend who wanted a new profile picture. We walked around a bit more and went to a mall for lunch. I got Shake Shack. It’s been so long since I’ve had anything from there. I tried the Shroom Burger and it was actually super good. Highly recommend. We ended up driving home right after because of how tired we were but we went to an asian market later to pick up some goodies. I got my favorite Japanese chocolate called “Black Thunder” in English. My sister showed it to me when we went to Japan. We also got boba at like 10 pm but it was still really good. Utah needs to take notes from California about how to make good boba. The sign at the boba place really spoke to me though and matches perfectly with the theme of this bl

Sunday:

The drive home. Honestly can’t say much about it cause I feel dead tired and am currently writing this post while on the road! Update: we sat in traffic for 2.5 hours because two semi-trucks had caught on fire. We are safe it just took forever and now we probably won’t get home until 11 pm. Yikes.

Anyone else do any last minute traveling before school starts?
